What was I thinking?

Setting: I am having a conversation with my Aunt N about her wedding.

Me: Have you thought about where you wanted to get married?

Aunt N: Yeah we were thinking maybe Vegas.

Me: That would be fun!

Aunt N: Yeah and it's easier because all you need is your prior divorce date.

Me: (Divorce date? What?) Oh. I don't get it. You need to know your divorce date?

Aunt N: Yeah. Prior divorce date from the previous marriage.

Me: Ohhhh. That makes more sense.

Aunt N: Makes more sense? What did you think I was talking about?

Me: I thought you meant your future divorce date. You know, you go into a chapel and tell the person "I would like to get married today, divorced in 5 years, maybe in April".

Aunt N: NO!

Me: Well that's good. I was getting worried because I don't think that is the mentality you should have when marrying someone.
